Severe Security Consulting

I was first introduced to Security when I accepted a Human Resource Manager (HRM) / Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) position with a government contractor. I was drawn to Security, transitioning from HR to support the company as a Facility Security Officer (FSO), Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO), and SCIF Site Security Manager (SSM). I oversaw the construction of the company's first SCIF, working closely with the CORs, Industrial Security, and the contracting company throughout the accreditation process, and ensured ongoing accreditation compliance.

In 2019, I was offered the opportunity to provide remote security consulting services. This decision ultimately changed the course of my life, allowing for greater flexibility between family and work, the launch of a business, and the organic growth of a company and team.

Originally from North Texas and a graduate of Texas Tech University, I began my career as a Financial Advisor at a prominent financial services firm.  In 2023, I moved to Maryland, which brought new opportunities and led me to join Severe Security Consulting LLC. I began my journey in security in October 2023, and I feel grateful to have advanced quickly. I've earned the Facility Security Officer certification and the necessary clearance credentials, enabling me to serve a variety of industry clients confidently.

My attention to detail and background in financial services allowed me to adapt quickly to government contracting and its strict compliance standards. I genuinely enjoy building strong relationships and earning our clients' trust, as I believe this is crucial for success in this industry and for promoting a strong security culture for clients and their employees.

During my 15 years supporting the DoD, I have held various roles, beginning as a Security Officer and later transitioning into Personnel & Facility Security. 

I joined the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as a Security Manager, where I implemented security programs across multiple organizations, supported the Threat Modeling Center, and managed over 500 badges for personnel and VIPs during Flight Test operations for Ground-Based Midcourse Missile Defense.

I managed several SAPF/SCIF spaces, handled personnel security clearance Systems of Records (SORs), and oversaw the implementation of a new badging system in my role as COMSEC custodian. Additionally, I conducted security awareness briefings and acted as the Insider Threat Program Liaison Officer.

With 15 years of experience as an Industrial Security Professional, I have served in multiple roles within the Intelligence Community, such as In-House Company FSO, FCL Program Manager, and Security Information Specialist. I also organized and led COR and CSSO training sessions. 

I conducted thorough risk assessments of our facilities and operations to identify vulnerabilities and implemented effective measures to reduce risks. I led security audits of contractor facilities, which helped lower risks by offering valuable recommendations and providing detailed reports of the findings. I handled all FCL submissions for industry contractors to ensure a smooth process. 

Additionally, I informed Defense Industrial Base (DIB) community forums about contractual security responsibilities, emphasizing a CI mindset. 

I have 18 years of experience in Business Management for various companies and government entities; however, my previous role was with the Public Safety Department at the Medical University of South Carolina. I oversaw the Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology Security divisions. 

As the Personnel Resource and Finance Manager at SSC, I am committed to advancing the company's strategic growth and financial performance, promoting its vision, and delivering exceptional support to our clients. My background, including a Master of Business Administration, enables me to make a meaningful contribution. 

Since August 2024, I have been part of the SSC Team and have observed the positive impact our team of professionals has on our clients. They are considered an extension of us, and only the highest standards are accepted.

I recently joined the SSC Team part-time while pursuing my full-time degree in Computer Science at Towson University, with a focus on Cybersecurity and Operations. During my senior year, I took dual enrollment classes at the Community College of Baltimore County, studying Computer Science, Java, Music Tech, Business, Web Design, and Graphic Design. Additionally, I led the STEM Changemaker Project and the Tech Student Association and managed the Creative Activity Services Project in the IB program.
